Shave to Raise, Run-A-Thon & Swim-A-Thon

A community is defined by the commitment of the individuals that exist within it, and how they choose to make a difference. The town of Montreal West is a small community, but a passionate one. On July 17, 2025 Andy Collins for Kids will pair up with that community to throw our 17th annual Shave to Raise event, which will include a Run-A-Thon this year, at the Montreal West Community Center. 

For the past 17 years residents of Montreal West have come together, both young and old, at the Pool to do what they can to help others. This would not have been possible without the help of staff members from MWDC and MWAC who have always selflessly volunteered, and participated in the event. The success of this event has stretched beyond the wildest dreams of its organizers and none of that would have been possible without people like you. Unfortunately we are found without a pool this year, but that won’t stop us!

Every year Shave to Raise along with our golf tournament serve to demonstrate to all involved the strength and capacity of a passionate community, and over the years Andy Collins for Kids has raised over $6,000,000.00 that is put towards programs at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. 

Long hospital stays can prove to be grueling for both parents and children alike, and can affect everyone involved, both physically and psychologically. Music therapy uses elements of music such as rhythm, melody and harmony to promote, maintain, and restore mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

We hope that you will consider joining us on July 17 for our annual Shave to Raise event as a volunteer, a participant, donor or just someone there to support a friend.

If you are interested in participating, and have a LOT of hair and not interested in shaving it - we can also cut 10+ inches off to donate to Locks of Love. If you’re more of a runner, and want to raise some money for a good cause, the run-a-thon will start at 4:00pm. For our Run-A-Thon participants will raise money by fixed pledge, or a pledge per lap and will have 2.5 hours to complete as many laps as possible (800m OR 0.5 miles), with prizes for top fundraiser & most distance covered.
